It utilized the iPhone X’s depth camera and Apple’s ARKit, marking eBay Computer Vision team’s first use of these technologies. An extra camera was added for precise image data collection. The project received global media attention and was a finalist in Fast Company’s World-Changing Ideas 2019, highlighting its innovative approach and potential to advance accessible, tech-driven shopping experiences.
