This groundbreaking research, supported by the Google Ph.D. Fellowship with funding of approximately $200,000 in 2020, focuses on enabling seamless and intuitive interaction through camera-based head tracking. By collecting extensive user image data with a dedicated camera, the project has refined its deep learning models and improved accessibility for individuals with limited hand mobility. Over a span of seven years, the project has yielded significant academic contributions, with its findings published in the most prestigious conferences in the field of AI, computer vision, and human-computer interaction.

Revolutionizing Shopping: Head Gesture Technology Enhances iOS Experience with eBay

The project, developed in partnership with eBay at their Silicon Valley headquarters, focused on creating a shopping experience using head gestures on iOS devices. This innovative approach aimed to enhance user interaction through advanced technologies such as the iPhone X depth camera and ARKit, both of which were explored by eBay's Computer Vision team for the first time. By solving a significant challenge in eBay's industry, the project not only aimed to improve the shopping experience but also had a broader social impact. To gather user image data for the project, an additional camera was used, enabling more precise data collection. The proof-of-concept implementation gained widespread attention, being featured in several major technology publications worldwide. The project's innovative nature also earned it a spot as a finalist in Fast Company's World-Changing Ideas 2019, showcasing its potential to transform both the shopping experience and broader technological interactions.

Innovating Accessibility: Cursor Control on Android with Flutter and Computer Vision

The project, developed in collaboration with Google, focused on creating cursor control on Android devices using Flutter and computer vision technologies. As part of a broader social innovation initiative, Google aimed to showcase Flutter's compatibility with image processing algorithms, helping to raise awareness of its capabilities within the developer community. To enhance the project, user image data was collected using an additional camera, enabling more accurate control and interaction. The project's findings were published at one of the most prestigious accessibility conferences, highlighting its potential to improve user accessibility. As of now, the project has been cited 19 times, underlining its growing influence and contribution to the field of accessible technology.

The project, developed in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Germany, focused on adding a new function to the billing system's error debugging structure. This system processes approximately $3 billion worth of invoices each month, making accuracy and efficiency critical. A new function was designed and implemented from the ground up to improve error detection and debugging, ensuring smoother operations within this large-scale infrastructure. The successful integration of this feature has significantly enhanced the system's reliability and error resolution capabilities.
